Is it a 3-day class? Seat-time? On-the-job training? or Years of experience? In our humble opinion, becoming a mobile crane operator requires more than just a classroom course on load charts and the dynamics of crane operation. It requires time in the seat—applying book education with a hands-on experience–to move beyond theory and truly learn how these powerful machines work and move under a load.
It’s for this reason, Crane Tech created a unique learning opportunity to turn individuals with limited to no experience into NCCCO Certified Mobile Crane Operators in just 3 weeks. Our Professional Operator Development program combines classroom teaching with hands-on application to create skilled operators who not only understand what’s necessary for safe and efficient crane operation, but know how to apply it on the job site as well. What’s more, students graduate with Qualified Rigger Level 1 training that is compliant OSHA §1926 Subpart CC requirements
Program Outline
Crane Tech’s Professional Operator Development program is conducted at our Tampa Training Center and includes:
- Week 1: Four days of classroom instruction on mobile crane operation including Qualified Rigger Level 1 training and testing and one day of hands-on instruction in the seat of a mobile crane.
- Week 2: Intensive hands-on training to master load control and prepare for the NCCCO practical exams. Also includes more technical training for load charts, range diagrams, crane set-up, lift planning, hydraulic systems, wire rope inspection, regulations, and pre-operational inspection.
- Week 3: NCCCO Certification written test preparation and written/practical testing (course includes all fees for the NCCCO core exam, two specialty exams, and one practical exam).
Separately, weeks 1 and 3 alone cost over $3,585. This three week program with 5 days of extended hand-on training is only $3,495!
Due to the intensive nature of this course, class size is limited and classes sell out quickly. There are only two classes remaining in 2015, and prices will increase in 2016, so register today.
For those who only need classroom instruction to become either a qualified mobile crane operator, or an NCCCO Certified operator, we offer both a 4-day Mobile Crane Operator Class and a 5-day NCCCO Certified Operator prep course with examinations.
