Carry Deck Crane Operator

This is qualification training, not third-party certification. Participants complete written assessments and hands-on evaluations, and employers use the provided documentation to designate operators as qualified. For certain construction lifting activities, third-party, accredited certification may be required under OSHA 1926 Subpart CC.

Carry deck operators must be trained in compliance with OSHA 1910.180 (general industry) and 1926 Subpart CC (construction). This carry deck training course aligns with OSHA and ASME B30.5, which covers mobile crane design, setup, operation, and safe practices.

Mobile crane operator training focuses on telescopic and lattice boom cranes. Carry deck operator training is shorter and specific to the compact, versatile carry deck crane, with emphasis on deck load movement and maneuvering in tight spaces for industrial support tasks.

Yes. Onsite carry deck crane training can be delivered at your facility using your carry deck cranes, ensuring operators practice with the same equipment and site conditions they’ll encounter on the job.

Crane Tech provides training and written/practical evaluations that support an employer’s qualification decision. Evaluation results are valid for two (2) years. Employers must re-evaluate operators sooner if unsafe operation is observed, workplace conditions change, or new tasks or equipment are introduced. Operator qualifications are not transferable between employers.
