Service Truck Crane Operator

Requirements depend on how the truck is equipped and used:

• General industry without a hoisting device: OSHA 1910.180 applies. Operators must be trained, evaluated, and qualified by their employer. This course provides the training and evaluations needed for qualification.

This distinction ensures employers remain compliant while operators receive the appropriate level of training for their work environment.

Mobile crane training is intended for larger, stand-alone cranes. Service truck crane training focuses on smaller truck-mounted units, emphasizing stability, field setup, and common jobsite loads.

Yes. The course provides both classroom and hands-on instruction, along with OSHA-compliant training and evaluation. Employers receive documentation to support operator qualification, as required by OSHA.

Service truck crane operators must receive refresher training when unsafe operation is observed, workplace conditions change, or a different lift configuration or attachment is used.
